About Us

We work with the people of Wales to take up outdoor activities as a life-long pursuit. Together we change lives for good. From local clubs to the peaks of our mountains there’s a place for everyone.

Our projects develop the confidence, skills and team working that can provide the stepping stones to new opportunities and healthier lives. Through volunteering, education, participation, training and employment there’s a place for everyone to change for good.

To achieve an active, healthy and inclusive Wales, where outdoor recreation provides a common platform for participation, fun, achievement and employment which binds local communities, creating sustainable use and understanding of the environment.

To Improve opportunities for more people in Wales to achieve their potential through outdoor activities.

Update from the Outdoor Partnership

In these unusual times, The Outdoor Partnership is still working and keen to keep in touch with all our clubs and members. April is normally the start of our membership year, but considering the circumstances we have decided not to offer membership at this time. With all courses and events cancelled for the foreseeable future, and peoples’ minds on keeping themselves and their families safe, now is not the time. However, when the time comes to re-start activities we will most definitely be helping clubs again.

Volunteer of the Year 2019 - 2020

Lauren is a keen and active volunteer, helping at numerous clubs and facilitating sessions in many different activities, meaning that theses guys from Ysgol Eirias for example get the chance to try some climbing!

Welcome to our new Northern Ireland Outdoor Activities Development Officer, Caoimhe (Keva) Connor, who joins the team as part of the UK Lottery project, to roll out the work of the Outdoor Partnership across other areas of the UK

Volunteer Cycling to new heights

Local volunteer Sarah Hattle of Coed y Brenin Dragons, who recently completed the British Cycling Level 2 Coach training course, with thanks to our coach education programme, has launched cycling sessions aimed at young riders to learn basic bike skills and to build their confidence.

Clubs and Groups

Available to voluntary clubs and groups providing regular outdoor activity provision in communities within the area of benefit. There are three types of membership, Gold, Silver and Bronze.


Available to individuals who share the vision and mission of the Outdoor Partnership and would like to contribute towards the charity's work. Individual members have a vote at our AGM.


Available to organisations within the area of benefit that share the vision and mission of the Outdoor Partnership and can demonstrate a material contribution to the charity’s work.
