Last week in North Wales over 250 school children from over 16 schools took part in a paddle sport activity day.
There were three zones; a recreational zone where they were able to try out all different types of boats from sea kayaks and open canoes to sprint boats, the second zone was the competitive zone with a time trial and sprint race and the third zone was a club zone where the local canoe club gave a presentation about their club and club activities.
The paddle sport days where held at 3 different locations - Llyn Padarn, Glan-llyn Outdoor Centre and Mold swimming baths.
The Paddle sport days where organised and run by the Outdoor Partnership, Canoe Wales and the county sport development officers.
A number of canoe clubs and outdoor activity centres also helped out with the running of the paddle sport days. A big thank you to Amlwch Canoe Club, Clwb Antur Dyffryn Peris, Glan Llyn Outdoor Centre and Barry Davies, Gwynedd maritime and country parks manager.
